PRISM is Hiring a Remote Member Services Supervisor (Hybrid/Remote)

PRISM is a joint powers authority (JPA) that provides risk management and insurance solutions for public entities throughout California. Our organization is member driven meaning that our public entity members have numerous opportunities available to participate in the governance of our JPA.

The Member Services Supervisor provides proactive direction and guidance to Member Services staff. They evaluate the performance of staff and provide customer service and risk management consultation services to internal and external customers (staff and members).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Represent a positive organizational image to members, vendors and the general public
  • Solve problems
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Supervise and direct the daily work of the Member Services team.
  • Perform annual staff performance evaluations, goal reviews and succession plan reviews.
  • Conduct new member and new staff member meetings by distributing a New Member Welcome Packet and greeting the new member or new staff member via phone call or webinars
  • Oversee, coordinate and conduct semi-annual member meetings in collaboration with other staff members and brokers.
  • Serve as liaison to Alliant staff for member service requests
  • Through working with staff, Alliant staff and members, provide recommendations and strategies to improve member services experience
  • Oversee the Enterprise Risk Managers program (ERC)
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the principles & methods of risk management, and public administration
  • Provide advice and direction on risk management and member service offerings to staff, TPAs, brokers, and members
  • Communicate effectively with various levels of management & staff
  • Maintain effective working relationships & foster teamwork amongst staff and various stakeholders
  • Support PRISM Core Values and PRISM Mission.
  • Assist with the overall success of the organizational strategic plan, goals, and objectives of the organization.
  • Moderate travel which may include overnight stays
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable software and PRISM technology
  • Attend Committee meetings as needed
  • Attend and speak at industry conferences

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in directly related field or equivalent and five years increasingly responsible work in directly related field; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, including but not limited to:

  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Ability to motivate and promote teamwork
  • Ability to foster and maintain a collaborative work environment
  • Ability to mentor personnel within the Member Services team
  • Public speaking experience in front of small and large crowds, in person and virtually
  • Performance management experience or training
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear, concise, effective and respectful manner
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze and interpret information
  • Ability to establish and maintain exceptional working relationships and good public relations with other employees, agencies, members, and the public
  • Knowledge of research and evaluation techniques

Licensing Requirements

A valid California Driver’s license is required. Proof of auto insurance with no business exclusion is required. ARM certification is desired, but not required.

Physical Requirements
Physical requirements of this position typically include: sitting for long periods of time, reaching, grasping, kneeling, talking, hearing, seeing, repetitive motions, exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move. Travel may be required.

Salary and Benefits
A generous benefit package is provided including Public Employees Retirement (PERS) health benefits, dental, vision, long-term disability, short-term disability, life insurance, PERS retirement, deferred compensation program, sick leave, vacation leave and section 125 cafeteria benefits. PRISM employees do not pay into Social Security except for the Medicare portion of the cost.

We are seeking candidates who can fulfill this position through a hybrid work model.
